Connecting the West Midlands: Inclusive Activity Programme eLearning and In Person Workshop (CLOSED FOR BOOKINGS NOW)

Connecting the West Midlands: As well as the delivery of the Activity Alliance Inclusive Activity Programme eLearning Module and in person workshop,  will also use this opportunity to connect as a group, share updates and good practice and identify future priority areas and training.

Date & Time: Saturday 17 June, 10.30 am - 5.30 pm

Venue: Ackers Adventure, Golden Hilllock Road, Small Heath, Birmingham, B11 2PY.  

Pre-workshop requirements: Completion of the Activity Alliance eLearning module, which takes approximately 1 hour to complete. You will be sent login details for the eLearning module, once you have booked onto the course and after the closing date of 5 June

Draft Agenda:

10.30 am: Arrival and welcome

1.00 - 1.45 pm: Lunch 

2.30-5.30 pm Inclusive Activity Programme Workshop

Cost: £10 and will include lunch and refreshment. 

During the in-person workshop, you will: 

  1. Learn how to create an inclusive environment
  2. Understand how to take a person-centred approach when planning and delivering learning
  3. Learn how to adapt activities to ensure inclusion and progression for all participants
  4. Explore creative ideas to support disabled people to access physical activity and sport
  5. Receive an interactive online workbook to support you

Workbook: Alongside the eLearning module, learners will have access to an interactive Workbook. This is where they can complete tasks linked to the eLearning to further their knowledge. The Workbook also supports the workshop and therefore learners are encouraged to bring a downloaded copy on a portable device, or printed version, to the workshop.

Practical Workshop: This 3-hour practical session focuses on putting the knowledge gained from the eLearning into practice, supporting learners to further develop and apply their skills. The workshop will also utilise the interactive Workbook and associated activities.

IAP Hub: The IAP Hub hosts a range of further information and useful links. Learners will be given access to the IAP Hub at the same time as they receive the eLearning joining instructions. They will have access to the Hub for one year to help embed the knowledge and skills learned.
