About the module: Every archer knows that learning good shooting technique early on sets you up for a happy and healthy experience of archery. From a coach’s perspective, understanding the basics of shooting form and teaching these to your beginners from the first session is really important.
Further guidance: Prospective coaches should read the ‘Guidance for Learners - Session Coach Qualification’ to find out more about what this qualification entails, which can be found at https://www.archerygb.org/coaches-judges-volunteers/coaches/session-coach-level-1/.
What you need to attend: You do not need any previous coaching experience to attend this module. There will be approximately 16 learners in attendance, thereby creating a personalised learning experience and providing opportunities for you to interact with the course deliverer and the rest of the group.
Technical guidance for joining an online event: We are using a webinar format to deliver the workshop. To optimise your experience, before booking please ensure you are equipped to join by reading our Technical Support Guide for Attendees.
How to attend: Once payment has been made for your entry fee, you will receive a payment confirmation email with instructions on how to join the online module.
IMPORTANT: Session Coach - Terms & Conditions (Please read before registering for modules)
Entry Requirements: Individuals should be aged at least 15 years old by the first day of the course. When carrying out supported practice sessions, learners who are under the age of 18 must be supervised by a responsible adult. (Please note: Learners who are aged 15 years will not be able to get a Coach Licence until they reach 16, this is due to Safeguarding training and DBS age requirements).
Session Coach Module Cancellation Policy: There is a minimum requirement of eight Learners to make a Session Course module viable for delivery. In the event that this minimum number is not met, Archery GB reserves the right to cancel the module. Learners will be notified via email of the cancellation and will be provided with the option of either a full refund or provided with a ‘Transfer Coupon’ to re-register for an alternative module.
Learner Cancellation Policy: Cancellations or requests for transfers by Learners within 10 days of a Session Coach module commencing will incur the full cost of the module (£27 for online modules and £77 for in-person modules).
Payment of Fees: All registrations and payments are now made through Sport80. Our preferred method is for individuals to register and pay directly through Sport80 and claim any funding back through their respective club. If this is not possible, please contact coaching@archerygb.org and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Learning Curve: All new coaches will be provided with access to Learning Curve upon completion of the first module ‘Starting your Coaching Journey’. If you have completed this module and are informed that you are ineligible because you are not a member of Archery GB, please contact coaching@archerygb.org.
