UK Coaching - Safeguarding and Protecting Children (online workshop)

Welcome to UK Coaching's 'Safeguarding and Protecting Children' workshop.  This online, interactive and tutor lead workshop will help you recognise and respond to concerns a child may be experiencing, or be at risk of experiencing, harm, neglect, or abuse.  You will learn the importance of person-centred care and take an individualised approach to your coaching practice, that puts the child or young person at the heart of every session.

It is suitable for the safeguarding requirements for a new coach or a renewing coach in England and Wales.

 

All Learners attending a Safeguarding & Protecting Children Online Classroom must be at least 18 years of age.

Key Objectives:

  • Recognize and Respond to Concerns: Learn to identify and address signs of harm, neglect, or abuse in children.
  • Person-Centred Care: Understand the importance of focusing on the individual needs of each child or young person.
  • Individualised Coaching Approach: Develop coaching practices that prioritize the child or young person in every session.
  • Partnership and Review: Benefit from regularly updated course content and materials, developed in collaboration with the NSPCC and CPSU, to ensure current and relevant guidance.

 

Duration:

  • 1 x 3-hour session: Participate in an online interactive classroom that is designed to be engaging and informative.
 

Price:  This workshop costs £35 per learner.

Outcomes:

By completing this course you will:

  • Reflect on the contemporary experiences of children and their implications for your coaching practice.
  • Learn techniques to develop a child-centred philosophy that ensures safe practices and creates a protective environment for all children.
  • Engage in interactive scenarios and discussions with peers from various sports and activities, exploring the consequences of decisions in a supportive setting.
  • Increase your confidence in addressing safeguarding issues effectively and counteracting emerging threats to children’s physical and mental health in modern Britain.
 

Learner Cancellation/Transfer Policy

 
  • All requests for transfers made by Learners will incur an admin charge of £5.
  • Cancellations by Learners within 10 days of the workshop commencing will incur the full cost of the module.
  • All learners are to log on at least 10 minutes prior to the session start time.
  • Late delegates will not be admitted into the workshop and will need to rebook a session.
  • No-shows will be charged the full session fee.
