General Information

Session Coach Course:  Welcome to Archery GB's Session Coach course covering modules 1-4.

 

Module 1 - Starting Your Coaching Journey: This course equips aspiring archery coaches with essential skills and knowledge to inspire and lead archers to success, whether new or formalizing experience.

 

Module 2 - Empowering Archery (Part 1): A workshop for those running archery clubs, coaching, officiating, or supporting young archers. It covers creating an empowering environment, understanding archery's health benefits, and establishing foundational elements for empowerment, based on motivational research and studies from the University of Birmingham.

 

Module 3 - Introduction to Technique: This module focuses on mastering basic archery skills (stance, grip, nocking, drawing, aiming, releasing) and effective teaching strategies (demonstrations, feedback, drills) to ensure a fun, injury-free experience for beginners and coaches.

 

Module 4 - Creating Engaging Sessions: Designed to help coaches plan enjoyable and beneficial sessions for beginners, focusing on clear instructions, interactive activities, and a supportive environment tailored to participants' needs.

Duration:

In-person workshops (2 days): Join us for engaging workshops designed to be both informative and interactive. You’ll participate in hands-on activities, group discussions, and practical exercises, guided by experienced Coach Developers. The workshops offer a collaborative and supportive environment to enhance your skills and knowledge.

 

Venue:  Wells City Archers, Rowden Road, Wells BA5 1TU

 

Day 1:  Sunday, 4 May 2025

Day 2:  Sunday, 1 June 2025

 

Time:  9am-5pm

 

Price:  Cost is £160 per learner

 

Additional Information:

• Participants will receive a printed Session Coach Workbook.
• A digital version of the Session Coach Workbook will also be provided.

• A digital version of the workbook Empowering Archery (Part 1) will be provided.

• Upon completion of the module 'Starting Your Coaching Journey', you’ll gain access to our online learning platform, “Learning Curve,” to enhance your learning experience.
• Certificates will be awarded upon successful completion.

 

Workshop Outcome:

Aspiring archery coaches will gain essential skills to inspire and lead archers. Learner Cancellation/Transfer Policy:

• Transfer Requests: All transfer requests will incur a £5 admin charge (unless previously agreed otherwise).
• Cancellations: Cancellations within 10 days of the Session Coach workshop start date will be charged the full cost.
• No-Shows: Learners who do not attend will be charged the full workshop fee.
