Archery Technique - Drills & Skills (open to all archers)
Welcome to Archery GB's “Archery Technique - Drills & Skills” workshop! This session is a key component of the Development Coach qualification but is open to archers of all levels. Building on the foundational knowledge from the ‘Introduction to Technique’ module, this workshop dives deeper into shooting techniques and the development of essential drills and skills for achieving excellent shooting form. You'll learn the importance of gradually increasing resistance and intensity, and how to incorporate feedback into your coaching. Completing this workshop is a step towards earning Archery GB’s Development Coach qualification.
Key Objectives:
- Technical Framework: Learn Archery GB’s framework for good shooting technique.
- Coaching Practices: Master current coaching practices to help archers achieve an easy, efficient shooting technique.
- Identify Improvements: Develop skills to enhance archer’s techniques.
- Teaching Drills: Teach drills targeting improvement areas.
- Hands-On Experience: Gain supervised coaching experience and create training plans (optional to bring an archer).
Duration:
One day in-person workshop: Join us for an engaging, all-day workshop designed to be both informative and interactive. You’ll participate in hands-on activities, group discussions, and practical exercises, guided by experienced Coach Developers. This workshop offers a collaborative and supportive environment to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Date: Saturday, 12 July 2025
Time: 9:00am to 5:00pm
Price: This workshop costs £85 per learner
Additional Information: A certificate will be awarded upon successful completion.
Outcomes:
By the end of this workshop, participants will enhance shooting techniques using Archery GB’s Technical Framework. They will master modern coaching practices, identify and address technical improvements, gain hands-on coaching experience, practice targeted drills, and use progressive methods to boost performance.

Learner Cancellation/Transfer Policy:
- Transfer Requests: All transfer requests will incur a £5 admin charge (unless previously agreed otherwise).
- Cancellations: Cancellations within 10 days of the Session Coach workshop start date will be charged the full cost.
- No-Shows: Learners who do not attend will be charged the full workshop fee.
