Coaching Archers with a Disability (Part 2)
Please note, to attend this in-person workshop, you must have completed and passed the Micro-Course Coaching Archers with a Disability (Part 1) on Learning Curve, in the Training Library.
Date: Saturday 4 & Sunday 5 October 2025 (in-person)
Times: 10 am - 4 pm
Venue: Sittingbourne Community College, Swanstree Avenue, Sittingbourne, Kent, ME10 4NL
Cost: £90
This two day, in-person workshop is designed to equip coaches and instructors with the confidence and skills to support archers of all abilities in an inclusive and accessible environment.
Throughout the course, participants will explore and experience:
- Understanding diverse needs and how different impairments can affect shooting.
- Developing coaching techniques for archers with challenges related to balance, stance, or strength.
- Supporting archers with limited mobility or grip strength in drawing the bowstring.
- Inclusive coaching strategies for archers with visual impairments.
- Creating a welcoming and accessible archery experience for everyone.
- Using and adapting equipment and assistive devices.
- Safety and risk management considerations for inclusive coaching.
- Effective recruitment and development pathways to support disabled archers in the sport.
This course promotes an inclusive approach to coaching, ensuring that archery is accessible and enjoyable for all. Thank you to the Fletchers Trust for their ongoing help and support in our disability work.
