Development Coach - Role of the Development Coach

 

Welcome to Archery GB's Development Coach module Role of the Development Coach - Module 1".  This introductory module will provide an overview of the Development Coach role, outline the required modules, and detail the necessary tasks to complete the course. Additionally, we’ll guide you through the expectations for the Coach Presentation Day.

 

Key Objectives:

  • Understand the Development Coach Role: Gain a comprehensive overview of the responsibilities and expectations of a Development Coach within Archery GB.
  • Identify Required Modules: Learn about the specific modules that are necessary to complete the Development Coach course.
  • Complete Necessary Tasks: Understand and complete the tasks required to successfully finish the course.
  • Prepare for Coach Presentation Day: Receive guidance on the expectations and preparations needed for the Coach Presentation Day.
 

Duration:

1 x 1-hour session: Participate in an online interactive classroom that is designed to be engaging and informative. These sessions will provide you with the opportunity to learn in a collaborative and supportive environment. Please see the technical guidance document for further details.

Time:  7:00pm to 8:00pm

 

Price:  This module costs £15 per learner

 

Additional Information:

  • Participants will receive a printed Development Coach Workbook.
  • A digital version of the Development Coach Workbook will also be provided.
  • Access to our online learning platform “Learning Curve”
  • A certificate will be awarded upon successful completion.
 

Order of sequence to take modules: It is recommended that all Development Coach modules should be taken in the following order: 

  • Module 1 - Role of the Development Coach
  • Module 2 - Developing the Archer in Front of You
  • Module 3 - Empowering Archery (Part 2) *
  • Module 4 - Archery Technique - Drills & Skills
  • Module 5 - Coaching Technique - Practice
  • Module 6 - Recurve Selection Set-up and Tuning**
  • Module 7 - Compound Selection Set-up and Tuning**
  • Module 8 - Coaching Journey Presentation (individuals should only register for this module when modules 1-8 and the 12 hours of supported practice have been fully completed)
 

*Empowering Archery (Part 1) must be completed before taking Empowering Archery (Part 2).

**Learners can choose to take either the Recurve or Compound or both.

 

Outcomes:

By the end of the Development Coach Course, archers will master advanced coaching techniques, complete all modules, demonstrate practical skills, and deliver a presentation. Graduates will drive continuous improvement and contribute confidently to the archery community.

Learner Cancellation and Transfer Policy

  • All transfer requests will receive a refund of their fees, minus £5 admin fee and any transaction charges. Learners must then re-register for the next available module.
  • Archery GB reserves the right to cancel or reschedule sessions, modify terms, or refuse service under certain conditions .
  • Cancellations by Learners within 10 days of a Session Coach module commencing will incur the full cost of the module (£30 for online modules and £80 for in-person workshops).
  • No-shows will be charged the full session fee.  They must then re-register for the next available module.
  • Learners arriving more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time will be considered a no-show. This policy helps prevent disruption to the Coach Developer and fellow learners.
 

All registrations and payments are now processed through Sport80. We recommend that individuals register and pay directly via Sport80, if they are receiving support from their club then the learner should pay first and then claim any funding back through their club. If this isn’t feasible, please reach out to us at coaching@archerygb.org, and we’ll do our best to assist you.
