Development Coach – Developing the Archer in Front of You
Welcome to the Archery GB Development Coach module “Developing the Archer in Front of You - Module 2”. Creating a series of sessions tailored to your archers’ needs is crucial for their continuous improvement. This module will guide you through the process of developing a comprehensive coaching program. You’ll learn to consider key design factors such as individual needs, goal setting, training principles, mental skills, equipment, anatomy, and nutrition. By the end of this module, you’ll be equipped to design effective coaching sessions that foster noticeable progress over time.
Key Objectives:
- Identify Individual Needs: Learn to assess and address the unique needs of each archer.
- Set Effective Goals: Develop skills in setting realistic and motivating goals for your archers.
- Apply Training Principles: Understand and implement key training principles to enhance performance.
- Incorporate Mental Skills: Integrate mental skills training into your coaching program.
- Optimize Equipment Use: Ensure proper selection and use of archery equipment.
- Understand Anatomy: Gain knowledge of anatomical considerations relevant to archery.
- Promote Nutrition: Learn to incorporate nutritional guidance into your coaching.
Duration:
2 x 2-hour sessions: Participate in online interactive classrooms that are designed to be engaging and informative. These sessions will provide you with the opportunity to learn in a collaborative and supportive environment. Please see the technical guidance document for further details.

Time: 7:00pm to 9:00pm
Price: This module costs £30 per learner
Additional Information: A certificate will be awarded upon successful completion.
Outcomes:
By the end of this module, coaches will be proficient in designing tailored coaching sessions, setting realistic goals, applying training principles, integrating mental skills, optimizing equipment use, and considering anatomical and nutritional factors. They will create effective, individualized programs that foster continuous improvement and progress.

Learner Cancellation and Transfer Policy
- All transfer requests will receive a refund of their fees, minus £5 admin fee and any transaction charges. Learners must then re-register for the next available module.
- Archery GB reserves the right to cancel or reschedule sessions, modify terms, or refuse service under certain conditions .
- Cancellations by Learners within 10 days of a Session Coach module commencing will incur the full cost of the module (£30 for online modules and £80 for in-person workshops).
- No-shows will be charged the full session fee. They must then re-register for the next available module.
- Learners arriving more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time will be considered a no-show. This policy helps prevent disruption to the Coach Developer and fellow learners.
All registrations and payments are now processed through Sport80. We recommend that individuals register and pay directly via Sport80, if they are receiving support from their club then the learner should pay first and then claim any funding back through their club. If this isn’t feasible, please reach out to us at coaching@archerygb.org, and we’ll do our best to assist you.
