Session Coach – Introduction to Technique
Welcome to the Archery GB Session Coach module “Introduction to Technique”. Unlock the secrets to archery success with our Introduction to Technique module! Mastering the basics early on ensures a fun and injury-free experience. Dive into essential skills like stance, grip, nocking, drawing, aiming, and releasing. Coaches will discover effective teaching strategies, including clear demonstrations, consistent feedback, and engaging drills. Build a strong foundation and enjoy a rewarding journey in archery, whether you’re a beginner or a coach guiding new archers. Join us and hit the bullseye with confidence!
Key Objectives:
- Understand the Technical Framework: Equip coaches with the knowledge to teach fundamental shooting techniques to beginners, ensuring a strong foundation in archery.
- Foster a Positive Learning Environment: Develop strategies to create an encouraging and supportive atmosphere that motivates archers to improve and enjoy the sport.
- Understand Motivations: Educate coaches on how to support learners to create environments to thrive.
- Implement Empowering Coaching Methods: Learn and apply coaching techniques that empower archers, helping them to build confidence and achieve their full potential.
Duration:
In-person workshop: Join us for an engaging workshop designed to be both informative and interactive. You’ll participate in hands-on activities, group discussions, and practical exercises, guided by experienced Coach Developers. This workshop offers a collaborative and supportive environment to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Price: This module costs £40 per learner

Archery is an inclusive sport, and we welcome individuals of all abilities to train as coaches. If you have a disability or additional learning needs, reasonable adjustments can be arranged during training and assessment. Outcomes:
By the end of this module, you will have a comprehensive understanding of archery coaching techniques and methodologies. You will be proficient in teaching and demonstrating fundamental shooting techniques, ensuring proper form and accuracy. Additionally, you will be adept at creating and maintaining a safe and supportive training environment, utilizing advanced communication strategies to effectively convey technical instructions and feedback. You will also be equipped to design and implement structured coaching sessions that promote continuous improvement and peak performance among your archers.

Learner Cancellation and Transfer Policy
- All transfer requests will receive a refund of their fees, minus £5 admin fee and any transaction charges. Learners must then re-register for the next available workshop.
- Archery GB reserves the right to cancel or reschedule workshops/sessions, modify terms, or refuse service under certain conditions.
- Cancellations: Cancellations within 10 days of the Session Coach workshop start date will be charged the full cost.
- No-Shows: Learners who do not attend will be charged the full workshop fee.
All registrations and payments are now processed through Sport80. We recommend that individuals register and pay directly via Sport80, if they are receiving support from their club then the learner should pay first and then claim any funding back through their club. If this isn’t feasible, please reach out to us at coaching@archerygb.org, and we’ll do our best to assist you.
