Junior Archery Series 2024, Stage 1: Lilleshall

The youth calendar kicked off with the first stage of the Junior Archery Series on Sunday 5 May 2024.

Bank holiday bliss, sunshine, and archery; the perfect combination to make a great weekend. The first stage of the Junior Archery Series took place at Lilleshall on Sunday 5 May 2024 after previously moving date due to the heavy rainfall. It was definitely worth the wait. Youth archers from across the UK came together and shot a single WA 40/50/60/70 round followed by head-to-head eliminations, by the end of which, we had our Stage 1 champions!

Winner of the compound youth women, Patience Wood, said: “I definitely feel more prepared for the rest of the outdoor season after the competition, especially because of the head-to-head practice it’s given me. It has helped me dust off a few cobwebs and find things I still need to work on going into the rest of the outdoor season.”

Barebow youth women’s bronze medallist, Kaci Stanley-Wright, talked about why she’s come back to JAS for a second time: “It’s the atmosphere and just how friendly and nice people are. Because we’ve all got that one thing in common, that we’re all archers, and we come from such an amazing community that’s so diverse and excepting of everyone.”
