Compound Selection Set-up and Tuning (open to all archers)

 

Welcome to Archery GB’s “Compound Selection Set-up and Tuning” workshop!  This session is a key component of the Development Coach qualification but is open to archers of all levelsThis workshop guides you in selecting your first competition-standard compound bow, covering essential criteria to match your needs and skill level. It includes step-by-step setup instructions for optimal performance and delves into tuning techniques, such as adjusting cams, limbs, and cables for accuracy and consistency. Practical sessions provide hands-on experience in making precise adjustments.

 

Key Objectives

  • Bow Selection: Learn criteria for choosing a competition-standard compound bow.
  • Setup Instructions: Step-by-step guidance for optimal bow assembly and setup.
  • Tuning Techniques: Master adjustments to cams, limbs, and cables.
  • Hands-On Practice: Apply tuning techniques in practical sessions.
 

Duration:

One day in-person workshop: Join us for an engaging, all-day workshop designed to be both informative and interactive. You’ll participate in hands-on activities, group discussions, and practical exercises, guided by experienced Coach Developers. This workshop offers a collaborative and supportive environment to enhance your skills and knowledge.

 

Venue:  Great Barford Village Hall, 6 Fishers Close, Great Barford, Bedford MK44 3JL.

 

Time:  9:00am to 5:00pm.

 

Price: This workshop costs £82 per learner.

 

Additional Information: 

  • A certificate will be awarded upon successful completion.
  • Coaches can choose to complete either the recurve or compound equipment module to achieve the Development Coach qualification.
 

Outcomes:

By the end of this module, participants will be proficient in selecting, setting up, and tuning a competition-standard compound bow. They will master the criteria for choosing the right bow, the assembly and setup process, and advanced tuning skills, including adjustments to cams, limbs, and cables. Practical sessions will provide hands-on experience for making precise adjustments to optimize performance.

Learner Cancellation/Transfer Policy:

  • Transfer Requests: All transfer requests will incur a £5 admin charge (unless previously agreed otherwise).
  • Cancellations: Cancellations within 10 days of the Session Coach workshop start date will be charged the full cost.
  • No-Shows: Learners who do not attend will be charged the full workshop fee.
