Recurve Selection Set-up and Tuning (open to all archers)

 

Welcome to Archery GB’s Recurve Selection Set-up and Tuningworkshop!  This session is a key component of the Development Coach qualification but is open to archers of all levels. This workshop guides you in selecting your first competition-standard recurve bow, covering essential criteria to match your needs and skill level. It includes step-by-step setup, ensuring proper assembly and adjustment for optimal performance. You'll learn tuning techniques to fine-tune the bow for accuracy and consistency, with practical sessions for hands-on experience in making precise adjustments.

 

Key Objectives:

  • Bow Selection: Learn criteria for choosing a beginner-friendly competition recurve bow.
  • Bow Setup: Get step-by-step instructions for assembling and setting up a recurve bow.
  • Tuning Skills: Acquire methods to tune the bow for optimal performance.
  • Practical Experience: Engage in hands-on practice to tune and adjust the bow.
 

Duration:

One day in-person workshop: Join us for an engaging, all-day workshop designed to be both informative and interactive. You’ll participate in hands-on activities, group discussions, and practical exercises, guided by experienced Coach Developers. This workshop offers a collaborative and supportive environment to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Date:  Saturday, 8 February 2025

 

Time:  9:00am to 4:00pm

 

Price: This workshop costs £82 per learner.

 

Additional Information: 

  • A certificate will be awarded upon successful completion.
  • Coaches can choose to complete either the recurve or compound equipment module to achieve the Development Coach qualification.
 

Outcomes:

By the end of this workshop, participants will be proficient in selecting, setting up, and tuning a competition-standard recurve bow. They will understand the criteria for choosing the right bow, master the assembly and setup process, and develop tuning skills to optimize performance. Participants will also gain practical experience through hands-on tuning sessions, ensuring they can make precise adjustments to meet competition standards and suit the archer’s unique needs.

Learner Cancellation/Transfer Policy:

  • Transfer Requests: All transfer requests will incur a £5 admin charge (unless previously agreed otherwise).
  • Cancellations: Cancellations within 10 days of the Session Coach workshop start date will be charged the full cost.
  • No-Shows: Learners who do not attend will be charged the full workshop fee.
