One gold medal match and four bronze medal matches!
After a long week, the GB field team have secured five places in medal matches, one gold medal match, and four bronze medal matches in the individual, and gold for the women's team.
Louisa Piper, the youngest of the recurve junior women, has beaten the top seed Aurélie Autret from France to make it into the gold medal match. Louisa will shoot tomorrow morning against Tihana Kovacic from Croatia, who ranked 11th, two places behind Louisa in qualification.
Louisa spoke to us and said, Â"This is my first international field competition, and I've learnt loads shooting alongside some of the best archers in Europe. MY GBR teammates have been really supportive and I'm so proud to have made the gold medal match.”
Bryony Pitman, who seeded top, will be shooting for bronze against Chiara Rebagliati from Italy, who seeded fifth. Bryony told us, Â"I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't make the gold match, but I shot well and it was one of the highest semi-final match scores for recurve, so I need to take confidence from that going into the bronze match tomorrow.”
Barebow woman, Carole-Anne Seez will also be shooting for bronze, against Austria's Andrea Payer. Both Bryony and Carole-Anne, with Hope Greenwood, shot in the women's team match, and finished fourth in the matches.
Junior recurve man, Joe Fairburn has had his best showing at a Field Championship for the past two years, ranking 12th, but now shooting for bronze against Croatian Lovro Cerni, who ranked 11th.
Yet another junior and barebow woman, Kathryn Morton, will also be shooting for bronze, against fifth seed Gudbjorg Renisdottir.
