Great Britain dominates at the European Youth Cup

The archers from GB have made 13 medal matches at the European Youth Cup

Across the week’s competition in Sion, the GB team have shot their way into 13 finals matches, 6 of which are for individual medals!

On his international debut, Luke Davis has secured his place in the compound men's under 21 gold medal match after defeating number one seed Lorenzo Gubbini 140-133. He will shoot at 11am BST against Dutch archer Stef Willems.

Luke said: "Being my international debut I’m very excited for my finals matches. I’m slightly nervous but I have a job to do. My first scoring end in my first match was a perfect 30, after that I had full confidence in myself and my equipment to get myself into the finals matches."

Two of the under 21 compound women, Patience Wood and Hallie Boulton have made a finals match. They will shoot head-to-head against one another for the bronze medal on Saturday at 10 am BST.

Patience said: "I am definitely feeling the nerves because obviously it will be intense, but I’m mainly excited because I’m against a friend who I can have a good laugh with and a hard match."

For the compound under 18 women, two of the archers will shoot for a medal. 5th ranked Louise Basset knocked out the 1st ranked Italian archer Caterina Gallo 140-136 in the semi-final, and her gold final will be against 2nd seed Sarah Schindlerova from Slovakia at 8:40 am BST. Chloe Scott narrowly missed out on joining her teammate in the gold final, but she will shoot for bronze at 8:40 am BST against Caterina Gallo.

Compound under 18 man, Finlay Clark, ranked in 8th and then went on to win his semi-final 143-135 against 5th seed Samuel Zeman from Slovakia. He will face Paz Carmi from Israel for gold in the final on Saturday at 9:40 am BST.

As well as the individual finals, GB will also be competing in an outstanding seven team and mixed team medal matches.
