Renewing your club's Archery GB affiliation

Affiliation to Archery GB gives you access to all the support, advice and guidance you need to run a strong and successful club for years to come.

Your club helps us to ensure that archery is delivered to as many people across the UK as possible, giving them a chance to access and enjoy our sport.

Don’t forget that as an affiliated club, you and your members receive the following benefits:

  • Club development support such as the optional OnTarget development programme, a refresh of which is coming soon
  • Governance support and frameworks- we have reinstated the Home Nations and Regional Chairs meeting and are delivering the recommendations to strengthen our foundations with the support and backing of our Home Nations and Regional Chairs and secretaries
  • Clubs can offer archery introductions to the public, through have-a-go events in the community, or tasters/ beginners' courses at their clubs promoted through our experience and club finders. You can also access our club shop to dress and promote your event, giving it a professional and welcoming feel
  • The ability to take part in Start Archery Week, the biggest archery have-a-go event in the UK, which introduces thousands of people to archery. Clubs are supported through regional media coverage, merchandise and event toolkits. Start Archery Week is our biggest new member event; clubs have used it successfully to fill their beginner courses and grow and strengthen their membership base. The event can only happen through the support of people like you. Will you pledge to support it?
  • A coaching syllabus to train and develop coaches to support members to learn and thrive in the sport. Coaches and other club officials are also supported and covered in their roles, with specific insurance for officials, with levels that we have not found through any other provider, with regards to liability
  • Regional and national level tournaments, training, and talent pathways
Being part of a Region and therefore local County as well. Sharing expertise, ideas and experience, online opportunities for members such as 'Postal' events, in-person competitions, training and support, coaches and County Coaching Organisers, Judges and JLOs.
  • Advice, disciplinary procedures, and action when required, plus welfare and safeguarding procedures – all the way up to national level if necessary, ensuring our sport is safe, regulated, and accessible for all and inline and up to date with sector changes and legislation
  • Promote your competitions through our competition finder plus host national and World Record Status events
  • Access to our badge and progression schemes for your members
Through the recognised connection with Sport England, Sport Scotland, Sport Wales and Sport NI, a voice to be able to contribute, as well as access to funding, information, support, and guidance.
  • Recognition awards and other volunteer support including our ambassador programme, volunteer handy guides and badges
  • General support and advice: admin from the Membership Team including Sport:80 training and guides, and regular Sport Development Officer support for club and archery development
  • Money-saving discounts from high-street retailers plus savings on custom club kit with Decathlon's Club Kit Designer
  • Being part of something bigger than your club, a UK-wide community of likeminded people united by a shared passion and love of our sport

Get ready to renew

As the new membership year approaches, we're all heading into one of the busiest times of the year. With clubs needing to renew their affiliation to Archery GB and the majority of member renewals also being due by 30 September 2025, now is the time to get prepared.

To help you stay ahead, we've pulled together key dates, preparation tips, and an overview of the support you can expect from us. Let's work together to make this renewal season smooth, efficient and stress-free!

Key dates to remember

Make sure your club and members are ready by noting these important dates below:

Monday 4 August 2025: Club affiliation opens

Renew your club's affiliation to Archery GB - we strongly recommend that this is completed by 31 August 2025 in order to avoid any delays when member renewals open. Please note, this does not apply to school and university clubs who will be contacted later in the year about renewing their club's affiliation.

Midday, Monday 1 September 2025: Member renewals open

Members (or clubs on behalf of members) can begin renewing their membership online. To avoid delay, we would strongly recommend clubs renew their affiliation by 31 August.

Tuesday 30 September 2025: Final deadline for affiliation

Club affiliations (except school and university clubs) and member renewals must be completed by this date to continue accessing all Archery GB membership benefits. Scroll to the end of this email for a reminder of these benefits.

Confirm contact information

Encourage members to log in and check their personal details are correct before renewals open. We will be emailing all members in August to remind them to do this.

Be ready to pay

Make sure members know what their fees are and if the club will be collecting their fees, or if they will be expected to manage their own renewal

Renew early

Remind members that the deadline to renew is 30 September 2025. Early renewal avoids last-minute issues and ensures uninterrupted participation in the sport that we all love.

What you can expect from us

We're here to help make this busy period as smooth as possible. Here's how we'll be supporting you and your members throughout the process:

Regular communications

We'll send timely reminders and updates via email and our usual channels - so you'll always know what's coming up and what to do next.

Helpful resources

To help members renew we have produced a video guide which you can watch here. We've also produced a written guide, called Membership Renewals FAQs, which can be downloaded from the Resource section of this page.

Access Archery Fund

This year when you renew or join, you will have the option to give a voluntary donation to the Access Archery Fund, an initiative to help more disabled people experience the benefits of archery, supported by Archery GB, in partnership with The Fletchers' Trust. For more details about the fund, please click the button below:

Access Archery Fund

When you're going through the checkout, you will see a donation prompt. You can choose from a set amount or click 'Other' and enter the amount you'd like to donate. If you don't wish to do this, the default setting is 'No donation' so you can leave this as it is. Please watch our 'How to renew your membership video' above, as this demonstrates how you can make a donation while you're going through the checkout.

Want to make a donation but your club is managing your renewal? You can still do this. Watch our 'How to make a donation to the Access Archery Fund' video below:

Prioritisation of enquiries relating to renewals

Our focus will be on supporting clubs and members with renewals, so priority will be given to questions and enquiries relating to topics such as:

  • Transferring members onto your club's list
  • Updating club roles
  • Club reaffiliation questions and issues
  • Membership renewal questions and issues
  • Membership payment issues
  • Login issues

Over the next few months, please help us to help you by doing the following:

  • Limiting phone calls to renewal-related topics as far as possible
  • If the phone line is busy, email membership@archerygb.org with your enquiry
  • Include 'Renewals' in the subject line of any emails that relate to renewals
  • Include 'Urgent' in the subject line of any non-renewal email enquiries that are genuinely time-sensitive
  • Share the above with your members
  • Keep an eye on your inbox and this page as we'll be updating it with instructions on how to renew your affiliation

Thank you for all you do to keep archery thriving in your community - we're looking forward to a smooth and successful renewal season and we'll be here to help you every step of the way!
