Session Coach – Introduction to Technique and Creating Engaging Sessions

Introduction to Technique: Unlock archery success with our Introduction to Technique module! Master the basics early for a fun, injury-free experience. Learn essential skills like stance, grip, nocking, drawing, aiming, and releasing. Coaches will discover effective teaching strategies, including clear demonstrations, consistent feedback, and engaging drills. Build a strong foundation and enjoy a rewarding journey in archery, whether you’re a beginner or a coach. Join us and hit the bullseye with confidence!

 

Creating Engaging Sessions: Creating engaging sessions for beginners requires thoughtful planning. This module helps coaches design courses that are enjoyable and beneficial, focusing on clear instructions, interactive activities, and a supportive environment. Coaches will learn to tailor content to meet participants’ needs, ensuring a positive and educational experience.

 

Key Objectives:

  • Technical Mastery: Teach fundamental archery techniques like stance, grip, nocking, drawing, aiming, and releasing.
  • Positive Environment: Create an encouraging atmosphere that motivates archers to improve and enjoy the sport.
  • Empowering Coaching: Use methods that build confidence and help archers reach their full potential.
  • Engaging Sessions: Design interactive and fun archery activities to keep learners engaged.
  • Tailored Instruction: Adapt coaching techniques to meet the specific needs and skill levels of each archer.
 

Duration:

One day in-person workshop: Join us for an engaging, all-day workshop designed to be both informative and interactive. You’ll participate in hands-on activities, group discussions, and practical exercises, guided by experienced Coach Developers. This workshop offers a collaborative and supportive environment to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Time:  9am-5pm

 

Price:  This workshop costs £85 per learner

 

Additional Information: A certificate for each module will be awarded upon successful completion.


Support for participants with additional needs:  Archery is an inclusive sport, and we welcome individuals of all abilities to train as coaches. If you have a disability or additional learning needs, reasonable adjustments can be arranged during training and assessment. By the end of this workshop, you'll be a confident, inspiring archery coach with a solid foundation in coaching techniques. You'll know how to design engaging beginner sessions, provide clear instructions, incorporate interactive activities, and create a supportive learning environment. You'll be able to tailor content to meet participants' needs, fostering a love for the sport and empowering archers to reach their potential.

Learner Cancellation and Transfer Policy

  • All transfer requests will receive a refund of their fees, minus £5 admin fee and any transaction charges. Learners must then re-register for the next available module.
  • Archery GB reserves the right to cancel or reschedule sessions, modify terms, or refuse service under certain conditions.
  • Cancellations by Learners within 10 days of a Session Coach module commencing will incur the full cost of the module (£30 for online modules and £85 for in-person workshops).
  • No-shows will be charged the full session fee.  They must then re-register for the next available module.
 

All registrations and payments are now processed through Sport80. We recommend that individuals register and pay directly via Sport80, if they are receiving support from their club then the learner should pay first and then claim any funding back through their club. If this isn’t feasible, please reach out to us at coaching@archerygb.org, and we’ll do our best to assist you.
