The second day of competition at the AGB Youth Festival threw every weather at the archers.
The day began with sunshine and clear skies as the archers got into their mixed team matches. The majority of the categories competed all the way through to the bronze medal final.
For the recurve junior mixed team, the winners of the bronze medal were team 'Krabappel', made up of Katie Tonkinson and Monty Orton, and their opponents were Rachel Moon and Austin Whitmarsh of team 'Daffy Duck'. It was a close final, and the teams took it to a shoot-off where 'Krabappel' shot a combined score of 16 to 'Daffy Duck's' 13 to take the win.
The recurve cadet mixed team bronze final was a clear cut win with Penny Healey and Riley Spencer-Nice of team 'Rusty' winning 6-0 against Lexie Carrie and Will Oakes of team 'Brannagan'.
The recurve cadet tier 2 mixed teams competed through to the gold final where the winners were Lucy Coutts and Liam Jordan od team 'Cleveland'.
The recurve and barebow mixed teams saw their way through to both the gold finals, and the winners were Lewis Bodkin and Ethan McKinney of team 'Marge'.
The compound cadet mixed team bronze final winners were Sinead Byrne and Jay Saunderson of team 'Olive Oyl' who won 147-143 over Bethany Rhodes and Thomas Lane of team 'Popeye'.
The afternoon took a turn for the worse as the rain came in. This didn't stop the archers from displaying some brilliant shooting for the first round of the individual matches. The main portion of individuals will take place on Wednesday 28th, where the top four in the categories will be announced.
