GB Aim for World Games glory

The GB archery team has been named for the twelfth edition of the World Games, which will take place in Chengdu, China.

The archery will kick off from 7-17 August, showcasing compound in target archery, and recurve and barebow in field archery.

World number one compound woman, Ella Gibson, will return as the reigning World Games champion, a title which she earned at the previous event in 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama.

On the recurve side, Bryony Pitman, who came home with the women’s individual silver medal, and Patrick Huston, who finished up in 4th place, will be flying the flag for GB once again.

James Annall will also be returning to the tournament this year in the hopes of a podium finish for the barebow men.

Performance Director, Mark Beecher, said: “Archery GB are very excited to see what our athletes can produce at this event. With their many past successes at the World Games, we are positive that GB will continue to showcase their skills and medal potential.

"This is a team comprising of many years of experience, expertise, and medal wins, and they have each contributed to GB’s well-earned reputation on the international stage.
