Two individuals have been shortlisted in the 2025 World Archery Awards.
Every year, World Archery recognise athletes, officials, and teams for their stand-out successes through the season. There are several categories, including “Athletes of the Year”, which is decided by a public vote, and others are chosen by an appointed panel, such as “Coach” and “Act of Fair Play”.
Alex Sillitoe-Price has received his first World Archery Awards nomination for “Young Archer of the Year”. Should he win, this won’t be his only award of the year, as he was named “Junior Performance Athlete of the Year” at the 2025 Archery GB Recognition Awards.
In August, Alex rose to the top of the podium at the World Youth Championships, taking home his debut title for U18 Recurve Men. He is the youngest member of the GB Olympic Programme at just fifteen years old, and most recently he won gold at the indoor 2025 Back2Back tournament.

Great Britain also has a nomination for “Judge of the Year”, Robert Potts. He’s been judging since 2007, gaining his national licence in 2012 and then finally his international one in 2023. Subsequently, he has volunteered at events ranging from youth, European, all the way to world level tournaments.
At the London 2012 Paralympic Games, he was the Assistant Director of Shooting (DOS), and most recently the DOS at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. In 2025, he was the DOS for not only the World Championships in Gwangju, but also at the World Cup Final in Chengdu.
Robert told us: “I’m very proud to be nominated for this award alongside the three other nominees who are all highly respected judges in their own right. It’s nice to be recognised for the effort and hard work that I’ve put in over the year.”
Archery GB would like to congratulate both Alex and Robert on their nominations and wish them the best of luck! Unfortunately, the public cannot vote for their categories, but please share your own well wishes to them on social media.
