Mark Davies has been appointed as Chairman of British Rowing as of the 1 April 2018, but will continue as Chairman of Archery GB until the end of his term - the AGM of April 2019.Â
Â
On behalf of the Board, Catherine Wilson as Senior Independent Director of Archery GB commented: Â"We are confident that Mark has the capacity to deliver both roles concurrently and we have no concerns regarding any conflict of interests, as the organisations have very different membership demographics and strategies.
Â
Â"This 12-month period up to the end of his term allows us the time to recruit a successor and ensure a smooth transition, enabling us to build on good work Mark has led on, in particular, the turnaround in our governance, which was deemed as a risk to our relationship and our funding from UK Sport, three years ago.
Â
Â"We would like to congratulate Mark on his new position. We are confident that he will provide us with the same commitment, leadership and professionalism we have enjoyed during the last three years, during his final year as Chairman of Archery GB.”
Â
Commenting on his new role Mark Davies said: Â"I would like to reassure members of Archery GB that I'll still be proactively leading Archery GB and overseeing the delivery of our strategic priorities right up until the AGM in 2019.”
