Lee Miller from Waterside Archers has been back to the range and couldn't be happier! Lee is an international judge, Archery GB competitions volunteer and keen archer.

Being back feels amazing. Getting out and meeting friends again, it felt great. I forgot what it felt like to miss the target! Also, it means that we are another step closer to having competitions. This means I'll be able to get back to judging and volunteering throughout the season, as well as competing.
I will be heading to the European Youth Cup in Slovenia in May, as long as restrictions allow, to judge. I'm really looking forward to it and to continue shooting at my club throughout the summer.
The friendly banter and camaraderie. Archery is a friendly, fun and can be a distanced sport. Being at the range brings out the fun side of training.
Don't be nervous. Everyone will be a little anxious about the new process that your club put in place. Just speak to your committee if you have any concerns.
Above all just enjoy being back at the range and at the sport you love. We are all in this together and cannot wait to see you on the shooting line soon!

Being a volunteer at my club to ensure the range is covid safe, inclusive and ready for archers has been testing. We worked well as a committe and have, thankfully, been able to open the club again. There are many precautions in place, in line with Archery GB and the government.
Volunteers run the clubs, so make sure to thank them when you see them on the shooting line. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes.
