British 3D Championships 2021

Covid restrictions meant that this year's British 3D Championships was a very different affair from the usual British Championships. The Championships were hosted at Pentref Bowmen in Wales.

Saturday morning saw the Longbow and Instinctive classes shooting the 24 target 3D course set out at Pentref Bowmen. Barebow shot on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, the weather was not the best in the morning with heavy showers which thankfully became lighter as the day went by.

Compound archers battled it out on Sunday morning. Thankfully in better weather. The course was a challenging mixture of slopes with most shots set out in the woods amongst the bluebells. With a few out in the open field.

Carol-Anne Seez, Barebow women's winner explained, "Lockdown has been extra hard and doctors orders to go and shoot! I think I've fulfilled my prescription. With support from my family and my field family we did it!!

"This was my second 3D shoot, last one being British in Scotland. You can't beat wandering round a muddy slippy forest searching out animals and then trying to get them to catch your arrows. I love it! Archery is the best therapy ever. Even better when everything goes right and and the scores show the hard work that you have put in! Thank you to everyone who made it possible."
