Some good news for clubs: anyone worrying about their outdoor range during lockdown can rest assured that ground maintenance is allowed to proceed, as long as social distancing is maintained.
Lisa Wainwright, CEO of Sport and Recreation Alliance said: "During my catch-up with the Sports Minister and other sector stakeholders, I sought clarification on whether ground maintenance work is classified as essential and therefore could workers be allowed to continue.
"We were informed that as long as social distancing regulations are adhered to and due regard for health and safety is followed, work that is essential to that space and cannot be done at home is acceptable and in this situation ground maintenance staff would be allowed to continue in their roles."

Can our club continue with ground maintenance work?
We understand that conducting some essential ground maintenance may be important to ensuring the long-term existence of archery clubs and facilities.
The government have confirmed that as long as social distancing regulations are adhered to and due regard for health and safety is followed, work that is essential to and cannot be done from home is acceptable and in this situation ground maintenance staff or volunteers would be allowed to continue in their roles.
