Participation in archery has been given a lift this year thanks to the Tokyo Games, an increased number of people looking for activities to safely do on home turf, and some great summer weather at the outdoor range. But could you and your club be doing more to welcome disabled people?
National Inclusion Week takes place 27 September to 3 October 2021, an opportunity to celebrate every-day inclusion in all its forms, and to consider where and how improvements can be made across society.
Archery is an inclusive sport and we all have a duty to continue to make it accessible for future generations. For guidance on the subject, we are running a new online Inclusive Activity training programme on how to make physical activity inclusive and accessible to disabled people. The programme is delivered by Activity Alliance in partnership with UK Coaching and funded through Sport England's National Lottery Fund. Equip yourself with the confidence and skills to engage disabled people and people with long-term health conditions more effectively in physical activity. Learn how to adapt your sessions to make them fun and inclusive for everyone!
A maximum of 12 and minimum of six people is required to provide the excellent learning experience. It is an interactive workshop and participants will be encouraged to share their thoughts and experiences throughout the session. Another session will be available before Christmas: we strongly encourage bookings.
Please note: UK Coaching will be supplied with your name and email address, to send out the joining instructions directly to you by email before the session.
When: 27 September at 7-9.30 pm
Delivered via: Webex
Cost: Free of charge
