The Sport Team Strategic Advisory Group is a example of Archery GB demonstrating a new way of working. Staff are engaging with a range of members on their work plans and areas for development. They, in turn, are bringing various aspects of expertise and insight to the table to support and offer opinion. Â
The idea is simple: to use the years of expertise built up within the membership to inform, check and challenge the work of the Sport Team and other areas of the organisation, so that we can create the most enjoyable and best quality of experience for everyone at every level of the sport. The group includes former Operations Committee chairmen and women, along with others who have shown a willingness to offer a positive input. It is open to anyone who wants to become involved.
The aim was to set up an Advisory group to look at some of the initiatives being brought about as part of the current Strategic Plan and to listen to ideas and comments from some incredibly experienced people. All the initiatives are based on the five pillars of Archery GB's Strategic Plan: Places, Participation, Progress, Podium and Principles.
The Strategic Advisory Group meets twice a year with on-going discussions and contact taking the work forwards. There are also Special Interest groups concentrating on women, young people, disabilities and members aged over 55.
The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday 6 October, 2018 at Becketts Farm, Wythall B47 6AJ. The arrival time is 10:30am and the meeting starts at 11am.
The key areas being covered at the next meeting are:
This meeting will be more interactive and consist of small group discussions and feedback rather than the previous listen and comment on ‘updates' approach.
We would like to invite any members who would like to attend to observe the meeting to come along, if you are interested please contact kate.dunnighan@archerygb.org by Monday 1 October, 2018.
