The 2023 champions of the National County Team Competition are named
The National County Team Competition is a staple of the Archery GB calendar, bringing together the best archers from across the UK. There were 267 competitors representing 29 different counties; for some this was their first NCTC, and others have been attending for many years.
A member of the 2nd placed compound team from Gloucestershire, Chloe A'Bear, told us: "This year was my first time shooting at the National County Team Competition. It was really nice to be able to compete in teams (and mixed teams) with from people in your county, as it isn’t a format often shot in national competitions."
Saturday saw the archers complete a ranking round followed by team head-to-heads which were awarded after the end of the day. Sunday's shooting involved another qualifying round, and then the afternoon was the mixed team event. Unfortunately, due to the adverse weather conditions, the judges and tournament organisers made the decision to cancel the shooting after round 2 of the head-to-heads.
