Introducing the archers who will represent GB at the 2024 World Field Championships in Canada.
This year’s field team comprises of both new and existing talent, making for a formidable group of archers. Previous medallists Patrick Huston and Bryony Pitman will be adding another championships to their repertoire. At the last World Field Championships in 2022, Patrick came home with the bronze medal and Bryony got the silver at the event in Yankton, South Dakota, as well as the European gold in 2023. Bryony is also fresh off the back of her return from the Paris Olympic Games where she finished in 17th place.
Some of the 2024 British Field Champions will be attending, including compound's Jake Walsh, and seventeen-year-old barebow archer Ollie Hicks. Ollie also came home from the 2024 European Field Championships with a gold for the under 21’s.
Recurve woman, Sophie Meering, told us: "Heading into my first World Field Championships is super exciting, after finishing 7th at Europeans last year in Italy, I feel confident about Canada. While I don’t have expectations as such, I’m ready for what it’ll throw at us. I’ve also never been to Canada, so to go to the country where my mum spent some of her childhood means a lot to me."
