Membership fees announcement

As we outlined in our communication to you on fees earlier this month, we have been reviewing our options for Archery GB membership fees for next year, 2020 - 2021.

This is against the backdrop of the challenges of the last few months and the unknown challenges ahead as we (and the country as a whole) face significant uncertainty.

The team has put in a huge amount of work looking at the options and central to that is striking the balance between providing our members with value for money and ensuring the future of the sport. This is not unique to archery, of course - all sports are wrestling with similar issues.

Despite making some significant cost savings, we have not been able to find a way to lower the fees and maintain the service we provide. The Archery GB Board has however decided that - unlike in previous years - there will be no increase next year. 2020 - 2021 fees will therefore remain at 2019 - 2020 prices. This will enable us to ensure our support for clubs can be maintained and allow the sport to recover and grow.

Our commitment to you is that we will continue to support the grassroots of archery, that we will stand with you as individual members and clubs to ensure we can all get back to shooting as quickly as possible. We have recently created a rebuild fund for clubs and over the coming weeks we will be providing more information to clubs around the next phase of return and competition guidance. We will also be supplying information and assets to clubs to help with the recruitment of lapsed and new members. We will also provide more details of a fund to support any members who are struggling financially so they don't miss out.

We are extremely aware that the indoor season may be a challenge for some clubs which are run out of schools and other venues yet to open. Please be assured that we are monitoring this situation closely and we will assess the needs of these clubs and potential solutions in the coming months as the picture becomes clearer. We have created a club support pack for those clubs impacted by this.

You will find a host of resources, updates and features (including our last communication about fees) on the Archery GB website to help and support you and your clubs in the coming months. Please contact us if you have any questions or ideas to help the sport recover and rebuild in the coming months.

Thank you for your support so far. There is much to do, but together we can continue to grow the sport of archery to make it more accessible, bring in more members, and of course enjoy spending time with our friends, family and colleagues on the range.
