For the second time in the span of three months, Newark Castle Archers have faced the loss of their grounds and equipment due to flooding.
During October 2023, Newark Castle Archers found their club Newark Rugby Club submerged in floodwaters for the first time. All their beginner’s equipment was destroyed.
Sadly, during the New Year floods, the club was struck again. The repercussions are severe, causing irreparable damage to their beginner equipment, which they had just managed to replace. This critical blow has not only impacted their ability to run beginners courses but also poses a threat to the club's survival. As a result, the club now stands at a crossroads, urgently needing support to secure its future.
Beginner equipment serves as the lifeblood for any archery club, acting as the foundation for essential courses that are pivotal in increasing and improving club membership levels. Newark Castle Archers have been a significant presence in Newark, contributing not only to the local archery scene but also creating a sense of community through their outreach efforts, and this equipment facilitates have-a-go sessions within the community, fostering awareness and appreciation for the sport of archery.
Newark Castle Archers are reaching out to the wider archery community and beyond, seeking any assistance that can aid in the recovery and continuation of their essential services. Every contribution, no matter the size, will play a crucial role in rebuilding and securing the future of this valuable archery club.
