Penny Healey shortlisted for Athletes’ Athlete award

Four athletes, including GB archer Penny Healey, have been shortlisted for the British Elite Athletes Association’s Athletes’ Athlete of the Month award for January.

This athlete-led prize celebrates the sporting achievements and personal triumphs of Britain’s elite sportspeople, with the winner selected by those on the World Class Programme.

Penny is joined on the shortlist by Mia Brookes (snowboarding), Adam Burgess (slalom canoeing) and, Team Hall (bobsleigh).

Paris Olympian Penny shot 12 perfect arrows to win the recurve women’s title at the first Indoor Archery World Series event of 2025 in Nimes, France. “I don’t know what just happened,” she said afterwards. “I don’t think I’ve ever done that before.”

Elite athletes can vote for their Athlete of the Month by heading to their latest BEAA email, with the winner to be confirmed shortly.

Former elite athletes can get involved via the British Elite Athletes Alumni app – which they can register for here.

Good luck Penny!
