The Vegas Shoot - Day One

This year 35 British archers have travelled over to take part in The Vegas Shoot, to join over 3800 other archers.

The Vegas Shoot, for those that don't know, is the biggest indoor competition on the circuit. It attracts the best of the best, Olympic Champions, World Champions, compound and recurves, barebow and crossbow alike.

There are two main divisions of the competition, the Championship, and the Flights.

The competition consists of three days of shooting 30 arrows each day at a ‘Vegas face' (pictured below). For recurves, it's normal WA18 scoring, for compound, they get recurve scoring (with the recurve 10).

Saturday night is the World Indoor Series Final, with the first 60 arrows of the Vegas Shoot counting towards final rankings. Archers have to have shot at three of the events, including Vegas in order to be able to qualify for the finals. The top eight archers of each division then shoot in head to head style matches, until the winners are crowned.
