Max is from Hinstock, Shropshire, and is a first year student on a Sports Science college course with LLS. He had an interest in archery early on when he went on family holidays, and after doing a 3D course in Ireland he was told that he should consider getting coaching. He later did his beginners course at Bowmen Of Adel Archery club.
His most proud achievement was winning two medals at the European Youth Cup in 2023: bronze recurve U18 men's team and recurve U18 mixed team.
In 2023 he won stage 4 of the National Tour in Surrey, placed 4th at the National Indoor Championships, and 5th place at the T.R.U. Ball Axcel Back2Back. This year, he hopes to make it to the National Tour Finals, and win an individual medal at the European Youth Cup.
