Archery GB's Legacy Coordinator, Jamila Bi, has been shortlisted for a community award for the work she has done to introduce 6,000 people to archery across the West Midlands.
It's been an award winning year for Jamila Bi who last week won the Sporting Initiative of the Year at the Birmingham Awards. That win follows a Highly Commended award at the British Muslim Awards for Archery GB's Project Rimaya which works to engage Muslim communities in archery.
The latest nomination is for Sport Birmingham's 2024 Community Celebration Awards, which recognise the outstanding contributions of individuals and organisations that have made a positive impact on the community through sport and physical activity.
From hundreds of inspiring nominations, an expert panels have selected 30 finalists who will be honoured at the awards evening on 21 November at Edgbaston Stadium.
Dan Smith, awards spokesman, said: "I'm genuinely inspired by the incredible work of our finalists for the Community Celebration Awards. These individuals and organisations demonstrate the positive impact sport and physical activity have on our communities, often transforming lives and creating lasting change.
"Each finalist reflects dedication, resilience, and the spirit of collaboration, values that drive our work forward."
Jamila has been shortlisted in the Inclusion Award category.
Jamila was appointed as a Legacy Coordinator to help achieve Archery GB's aspirations of enriching lives through archery and she has proved to be a hugely positive role model for archery in the West Midlands.
