Archery GB's Performance Director to take up new role

Archery GB's Performance Director, Tom Duggan is leaving the organisation to take up a new position at Paddle UK as the Performance Director for Canoe Slalom and Kayak Cross.

Tom will be leaving Archery GB at the end of March after supporting the World Class Programme through two Games cycles.

He joined Archery GB from England Squash in 2017, taking up the role of Head of Paralympic Performance, which he held for four years before becoming the sport's Performance Director.

Since joining Archery GB, Tom has played a crucial role in developing the performance programme and delivering sustained success on the international stage. Under his leadership, Archery GB met its medal targets at both the Tokyo and Paris Paralympic Games, as well as securing full team qualification for the Paris Olympics.

Tom has been instrumental in securing continued investment into both the Olympic and Paralympic programmes for the LA cycle. His tenure also saw the establishment of the Performance Archery Centre at Lilleshall in April 2024, providing a world-class training environment for athletes to thrive and ensuring the World Class Programme can build from a position of strength.

Ruth Hall, Chief Executive at Archery GB, said: "Tom has been a driving force behind the success of Archery GB's high-performance programme, his vision and dedication have strengthened and elevated our team. We're grateful for his enormous contribution and his leadership in both the development of the sport and the wider National Governing Body, and we all wish him every success in this exciting new role in paddle sport."

Tom Duggan said: "Being a part of Archery GB and the World Class Programme for the last seven and a half years has been an honour and a privilege, and I will look back on what we have collectively achieved in the Tokyo and Paris cycles with fond memories.

"I'd like to thank the athletes, staff, Board, volunteers and the Performance Advisory Group for their support and commitment and wish them and the programme all the success for the future as they look to build on the foundations that are now in place for the Pathway and World Class Programme.

"I'd also like to thank UK Sport and Sport England for their support with developing the Performance Archery Centre as the new home of British archery."
