GB's juniors have returned home from the 2024 European Youth Cup in Bulgaria with a haul of medals to their name.
For this first event of the youth international season, Great Britain almost topped the medal table, finishing in second place behind the team from France.
The team comprised of a mix of experienced juniors along with a selection of debut athletes including: Violet Walker, Megan Robertson and Sophie Roberts. Violet and her U18 compound teammates, Grace Coulam and Chloe Scott, won the silver medal.
Individually, the team had four medallists. On the men’s side, Luke Davis won individual gold for the compound U21 men, and Max Oakley also won gold for the U18 recurve men. Emelia Hughes earned silver for the U21 recurve women, and Chloe Scott came home with the U18 compound women’s silver.
Cait Leach, Performance Pathway Manager, said: "This was a very successful week for the GB youth team, with impressive performances on the field and plenty of important learning for new and experienced competitors alike.
"The European Youth Cup events are notable for the camaraderie between athletes of different nations and Sofia 2024 was no exception. It's clear that there's a bright future for the sport with such talented youngsters on the horizon."
