Hallie Boulton has won the compound under 21 women’s bronze medal at the 2023 World Youth Championships in Limerick.
This year’s World Youth Championships in Limerick, Ireland saw GB return home with three medals for the compound team. On top of the silver compound under 18 mixed team medal and the bronze compound under 21 mixed team medal, Hallie Boulton added an individual podium finish to the haul.
After ranking in 12th place with a score of 671, Hallie shot her way through to the bronze medal match where she faced 2nd ranked Kaur Avneet from India. The windy finals field proved a challenge for both competitors, making it a nail-biting watch. After four ends, Hallie was down by two points with 111-109. In the last three arrows, a 29 from Hallie versus Avneet’s 27 brought the score all square on 138 to bring the match to a shoot-off. Hallie kept her nerve for the final shot, scoring a 10 to Avneet’s 9 to take the bronze.
Hallie said: "I'm very happy with how I performed as I claimed the medal I lost out on at the last World Championships in Poland. I never gave up throughout my match even though I was trailing until the last end."
