Kickstart 2025 with the Archery GB January Challenge virtual competition!

Ready to elevate your archery game? Join the fun of the Archery GB January Challenge, a virtual archery competition open to all our members. 

Why participate?

  • New to competition? This is the ideal way to dip your toes in.
  • It's flexible shooting: shoot as often as you like throughout January and from the comfort of your own club.
  • Meet some new people at your club or organisation by organising a club challenge day or a group of fellow archers to shoot with.
  • It's incredibly easy. Simply register and shoot. There are no entry fees and no travel costs. 

Round:

  • Portsmouth (archers may use either a full or 3-spot face). 
  • 60 arrows at a 60cm target face from a distance of 20 yards
  • Two ends of sighters
  • Can be timed or untimed
  • Use 10-zone scoring (Xs do not count)
  • The maximum score possible is 600

Categories

Archers will be split by bowstyle and gender within each of the categories below:

  • 1 year in archery or less
  • Under 25 years in archery
  • 25 years in archery or more

Juniors can participate and will be counted alongside adults.

For American flatbows, please include these scores under 'Recurve Barebows'.

Entry dates

All scores submitted must be shot during January and entered into the system no later than the 5 February. If you enter from 7 January onwards, please allow up to 72 hours for the entry to be processed and QR code to be sent via email.

How to join

  1. Register: Sign up here to receive your scorecard (available after 9 January, 2025).
  2. Shoot: Practice your aim and shoot the Portsmouth round at your club.
  3. Submit: Send in your best score by 5 February, 2025.

Results

  • Recognition: Top scores will be announced mid-late February on our website and Ianseo.
  • Certificate: Download your participation certificate as a token of your achievement.
