Mark Beecher announced as Archery GB Performance Director

Archery GB is delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Beecher as Performance Director for Archery GB's World Class Programme (WCP).

Mark joins Archery GB from Badminton England where he led the delivery of GB and Badminton England's performance programmes, and during periods without funding, achieving World, Commonwealth and European medals. Mark secured WCP funding for the Paris cycle, enabling the re-establishment of a centralised GB Badminton programme, supported by a multi-disciplinary team.

Mark also led the cultural transformation within the Olympic performance environment.

Additionally, he established the Para Badminton World Class Performance Programme from its inception, building a complete performance and talent pathway, which then delivered multiple medal successes at the Tokyo (1 silver, 1 bronze) and Paris (2 silver) Paralympic Games.

Ruth Hall, Archery GB's Chief Executive, said: "As well as Mark's past achievements and delivery, it is his commitment to athlete-centred, values-driven leadership, and to building a positive, supportive, inclusive, high-performing culture, which has truly set him apart and was a key factor in his appointment as Performance Director."

Mark Beecher said: "I will be fully embracing the opportunity to join Archery GB at this exciting time of its development, as we enter the LA Games cycle with its centralised training and commitment towards greater alignment of the pathway to the performance programme.

"I'm looking forward to supporting the programme, the talented staff and athletes as we build towards sustained success at Los Angeles 2028 and beyond with commitment, clarity, and passion."

Mark will join the organisation at the end of June.
