Paris Paralympic Games champions Jodie Grinham and Nathan Macqueen have been appointed MBEs for services to archery.
The pair won gold in the Compound Open competition at the Games in the mixed team category.
Jodie also won bronze in the Compound Open individual competition, a feat made even more impressive as she was competing while 28 weeks pregnant. Jodie is thought to be the first ParalympicsGB athlete to compete at a Games while pregnant, the first to podium and the first to be crowned Paralympic champion. On returning to the UK, she won the National Tour final, the pinnacle archery event in the UK, just days after her Paris triumph.
She had previously won a silver medal as part of the mixed team event in Rio.
For Nathan, it was his first Paralympic medal at his third Games. It topped a successful year, following on from him winning gold in the Compound Open mixed team division at the European Para Cup with Jodie Grinham, and bronze at the European Para Championships with Phoebe Paterson Pine.
Nathan said: "I'm absolutely honoured to be receiving an MBE on the New Year's Honours list. It really is the icing on the cake after the success in Paris and the hard work over the last nine years."
Congratulations Jodie and Nathan!
