The winners of the 2024 National Clout Championships were named in York.
The 2024 National Clout Championships and Tassel Scheme National Championships was held at York Archers from 19-20 October. After a battle with the elements, the tournament thankfully was still able to go ahead. Around 120 people shot in the Championships, bringing together competitors of all ages: from juniors to others in their 80s.
Across both days, 16 unofficial national records were claimed, 12 of which were shot on the Championship Saturday!
Compound womens champion, Emma Mooney, told us: "I’m delighted to have won the National Clout and Tassel Scheme Championships for the third consecutive year, and to also break the national record, scoring 308 on the double 140-yard clout. This has been an incredibly competitive season, especially for the women’s compound division. I can’t wait to go again next year!"

Tournament Organiser, Andrew Neal, said: “It was touch and go whether the Championships would take place due to the wet ground conditions. Following a morning meeting with the Chair of the Sports Field Association, it was agreed for the shoot to go ahead. Some excellent scores were shot, especially on the Saturday, with no fewer than 12 national records claimed. Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all archers that braved the conditions to make the weekend a success.”
