Ones to Watch - TRUball Axcel Back 2 Back Competition

This year’s Archery GB TRUball Axcel Back 2 Back at Stoneleigh Park will be one to remember. Some of the very best, leading champions of indoor archery will enter the T.R.U.Ball Axcel Hall to compete for the title. We will play host to two world number ones, indoor world series winners, and perfect Vegas-style 900 shooters.

How it all works

Within each category, the participants will be put into groups of six. All archers will shoot on a three-spot vertical face. There will be a ten second lead in, and then there will be 90 seconds to shoot three arrows.

Each archer will shoot a twelve arrow head-to-head against every other person in their group. A win will earn two points and a draw one point. The points for each archer will be collated and this will create a ranking within each group. From this, the top two archers in each group will progress to the second stage. Joining them in the next round will be the top four athletes on score from across the remainder of the shooters.

The second stage will narrow the pool of archers down to the last six and they will compete in a shoot-down style finals to determine the winner. For the first time in the finals, the archers will shoot five arrow ends on a five spot face using eleven zone scoring. This will be done to timed ends of 150 seconds.

After the shoot down, the top six archers in the finals will be awarded cash prizes. The figures for each division will be subject to the number of entries.
