OnTarget Club Development Days kick off in Nottinghamshire

The first of the OnTarget Club Development Days has taken place in Nottinghamshire.

Club leaders attended from five different clubs who are all either joining OnTarget or are interested in joining.

It was a full day on the topic of member retention, with information shared and discussions held with examples of good practice, new ideas, activities, and games, allowing the attendees to learn from everyone present. There were sessions around club development topics, including involving and welcoming new members and fully integrating members (and families) into the life of the club. Also discussed was ways to help members know how they are improving and progressing in their archery, and collaborative communication and feedback, including a session on increasing the "member voice" in clubs led by the lead of the East Midlands Sport Welfare Network cluster, Richard Bell, from Active Lincolnshire.

Participants were invited to help shape the future of the OnTarget programme, sharing their ideas on how to best develop a supportive OnTarget community and learn from each other.

Helen Smedley, Archery GB Sport Development Officer, said: "The feedback from those who attended was incredibly positive, and we look forward to the next five Development Days over the next two months, and working closely with all clubs joining the new OnTarget club development programme in future."
