Rules of Shooting and Shooting Procedures updated

The Rules of Shooting and Shooting Administrative Procedures have been updated and are effective immediately.

Rules of Shooting

The latest version of the Rules are available here (the changes have been highlighted in blue), but we've recapped the main changes for you below:

  • Bowstyles: Updates to 205 Recurve Traditional and 206A American Flatbow
  • Recognised Rounds: Minor updates to Table 3-1 and Table 3-2 allowing for 50+ archers to claim UK Records
  • Target Archery Indoor:
    • 404 (d) Golds at indoor Archery GB rounds are for any arrow scoring a ten (10) in value only
    • 409A (e) (i) The scoring zones on the triple triangular target face will be from 10 – 6, and on the full size face will be from 10-1
  • Field Archery: Minor update and clarifications following changes in 2024. See 500 (a), (b), (c), 507
  • Disabled and Visually Impaired Archers: Part 11 E (ii) Records. Double round records may be claimed for rounds designated by an X in column 1 of the table in Rule 1102 E (i) above and for the Portsmouth round as described in Part 4
  • Appendix B Minimum Standard for Judge in Charge: 3 (g) All Record Status Field / 3D shoots – one chair of judges, plus three judges per course. The Chair of a Record Status Field shoot must be able to traverse the field course
  • Judge expectations – alignment to the Archery GB mileage amount of 40p per mile

 

Shooting Administrative Procedures

The latest version of the SAPs are available here. Alongside some minor grammatical changes, the following SAPs have been updated. All changes are highlighted in blue.

  • SAP 3 - Accreditation of Tournaments. 1.(H) & (I) – Updated procedures on documentation and results filing procedure
  • SAP 4 – An update to the Annual Tournaments organised by Archery GB, and minor updates to 2. General Rules
  • SAP 6 – Minor updates to Six Gold Badges, Rose Awards, and WA Target/Silver Target Awards for Cadets and Masters
  • SAP 7 – Field Archery: Clarification of the claim procedures for field classifications
  • SAP 10 – Inclusion of the Dogs at Competition & Events policy, removing this as a standalone policy
