This weekend the new champions of the Junior Nationals were crowned in blustery conditions in Shropshire.
On 1-2 July, a windy but bright Lilleshall played host to the 2023 Junior Nationals. Over 360 youth archers from across the country came together to compete.
Katy Cumming, Archery GB National Competition and Volunteers Lead said: "Thank you for all the volunteers and judges for their support and hard work. The competition wouldn't have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our volunteer workforce. Also, a big thank you to parents, coaches and archers who helped moving target and keeping the field tidy. Congratulations to all the winners and we hope to see you next year."
Sunday's competition saw the junior archers complete their York and Hereford rounds, the highest scorers becoming this year's newest champions.
For the under 21 men shooting the York, recurve Callum Piggott shot 1120 to take the top spot, compound Robert Bittles won with a 1138, and barebow Harvey Smith shot a winning score of 156.
The winners for the under 21 women shooting the Hereford are Kathleen Morgan for the recurves with a score of 1104. For the longbows, Grace Curran came out on top with a 308, and a 578 from Alice Friend earned her the barebow title.
