Three British volunteers have been elected onto the Executive Board and Committees at World Archery Europe's 2024 Congress.
The congress took place in Essen, Germany, ahead of the European Championships, which will take place from 7-12 May.
Archery GB was represented by Chief Executive Ruth Hall (voting delegate) and Chair Mark Briegel. In addition, former AGB Board member Steve Tully, Chair of the Development and Technical Committee (DTAC), presented the proposed new World Archery Europe (WAE) Strategy, which he has led the development of. The strategy was unanimously approved by Congress.
Hilda Gibson, AGB's International Relations Lead, was also present as a member of the Executive Board and was re-elected along with Darko Uidl (CRO) and two new members, Viktoria Koval (UKR) and Maya Shalaby (SLO). Arnoud Strijbis (NED) was elected as First Vice President. The WAE EB is now gender balanced with 5 men and 4 women.
British Judge Katy Lipscomb received the highest number of votes for the Judge Committee and will be the new Chair, and Steve Tully received the highest number of votes for DTAC and remains the Chair.
AGB Regional Development Officer Vic Williams just missed out on a place on the Field and 3D Committee by one vote and GB Olympic Performance Manager Rikki Bingham got through two rounds of voting for the Para Archery Committee in a very strong set of candidates.
