Jamila Bi, Archery GB's Legacy Coordinator, has won a community award for the work she has done to introduce 6,000 people to archery across the West Midlands.
Jamila's win comes hot on the heels of her success at the recent Birmingham Awards where the club she set up, Crescent Archers, won Sporting Initiative of the Year. That win follows a Highly Commended award at the British Muslim Awards for Archery GB's Project Rimaya which works to engage Muslim communities in archery.
The latest win is for Sport Birmingham's 2024 Community Celebration Awards, which recognise the outstanding contributions of individuals and organisations that have made a positive impact on the community through sport and physical activity.
From hundreds of inspiring nominations, an expert panels selected 30 finalists who were honoured at the awards evening on Thursday at Edgbaston Stadium, including Jamila who won the Inclusion Award.
Jamila was appointed as a Legacy Coordinator to help achieve Archery GB's aspirations of enriching lives through archery and she has proved to be a hugely positive role model for archery in the West Midlands.
