Junior Archery Series 2023: York, stage one

That's a wrap for the first stage of the Junior Archery Series hosted by York Archers

Junior archers from across the country came together at sunny York Archers on 20 May for the opening stage of the 2023 Junior Archery Series.

They completed a qualifying 720 round as well as head-to-head matches to determine the overall winners for the day within each category.

Tournament Organiser David Shaw said: "It was fantastic to host the event at York and see so many talented athletes competing and supporting one another. The future of the sport is in good hands!"

The next stage of the event will be held at Woking Archery Club on 17 June, and we can't wait to see all the archers return to show what they're made of. At each event, every archer will accumulate points based on their placing in both the qualification round and head-to-head eliminations. These points will count towards determining the overall JAS category champions.

"At the beginning of the day there was a shooting line of archers, and by the end of the day you had a supportive team environment. These archers are the next generation of Team GB and this is the attitude they are bringing."
