Soft Arrows Archery

Soft archery for schools, scouts, care homes, camping and at home. Archery GB's soft archery programme, Arrows Archery, is a safe and fun way to introduce the joy of archery in schools, care homes, extra curricular clubs or to anyone who can’t make it to their local range. Using suction cup arrows, participants learn new skills in a safe environment, working on building strength and coordination while having fun doing something a little out of the ordinary.

Arrows Archery for schools

We created Arrows Archery for primary schools to introduce young children to archery in a fun and safe way. The equipment and resources provided make it easy for teachers to deliver archery in almost any school environment and it’s quick and easy to set up. The bows have a low draw weight and are easy to use making them great for delivering inclusive sports sessions.

Watch the video below from the Youth Sport Trust to see how you can deliver archery at your primary or special school:

Designed to be delivered by teachers and sports coordinators through the support of easy to use resources and activity cards, so no formal training is required to deliver Arrows Archery, but we do have an Introduction to Arrows Course if extra support is required. Soft archery uses arrows fitted with child-friendly suction cups to use in PE lessons, across the curriculum, in out-of-hours clubs and as part of School Games and sports days.

Developing links with local schools is also a great way to promote and expand your club.

Soft archery for care homes

Age and mobility are no barriers to enjoying archery and we’re proud that new archers are coming to the sport well into their 90s. Soft archery is a brilliant way to introduce a new activity to residents in care homes, hospitals and hospices, building new skills and supporting physical, mental and cognitive wellbeing.

Using arrows with suction cups, residents can practice their archery skills from a chair or bed, and can safely shoot in communal areas - meaning no-one’s left out of the fun.

Learning new skills and practising physical activities is proven to support health and wellbeing for all ages, keeping the mind and body active and providing fun new ways to unwind.

Soft archery at home

Keeping the kids entertained isn’t always easy, but soft archery is something the whole family can enjoy in the garden, or even inside as a rainy day activity.

Using soft arrows, even the youngest members of the family can get involved and whether you’re already a family of archers, or you’re all new to the sport, you’re sure to be hooked...
