Three medals are brought back to the UK from the Veronica’s Cup.
The week-long world ranking event in Kamnik, Slovenia saw the Brits comes home with two golds and one silver medal.
Théa Rogers made her debut competing as a senior internationally, shooting in the recurve mixed team division with Conor Hall. The duo ranked in fifth place following qualification, and they were able to make it through three rounds of head-to-heads to make the gold final. For the coveted top spot on the podium, they faced the third ranked team from Czech Republic. GB took the lead with 4-0 set points, and in the third end they tied on 35 points apiece to take the win 5-1.
Conor Hall returned to the finals stage with teammates Alex Wise and Tom Hall for the recurve men’s team gold final. The second ranked Brits faced the top ranked team from Ukraine. After a closely fought five ends of shooting, the match ended on a tie, resulting in a shoot-off. With 27 points to Ukraine’s 25, GB earned themselves the gold.
Tom said: "We feel pretty good about bagging another medal this year, especially finally getting the big first place on the finals field. It's been a long time coming. Obviously it's big for confidence because nothing really helps like winning, but I think the confidence has been there the whole time from everything we've done in the winter, all the training we've done, knowing that everyone's shooting really well."
Alex added: "The results we've had, the preparations we've done, and the team camaraderie we've built will help us to achieve our goals in Antalya."
In the individual portion of the competition, third ranked U21 recurve woman, Holly Linfield, competed in the gold final. She was able to take two set points in her match against the first ranked archer, Nina Corel, but ultimately she came home with the silver medal after a 6-2 finish.
